Daily Learning Resources

Frequently Used:

Dear Parents,

This year I will be using a clip behavior system. Below is an example of the chart we will be using in our classroom.

Everyone will begin the day with his/her clip on “Ready to Learn”. Throughout the day, students will be asked to move their clip up or down on the chart according to their behavior. If a student makes improved choices after moving their clip down, they will be given a chance to move their clip back up.

At the end of the day, I will indicate your child’s behavior on their weekly behavior chart. This chart will come home in your child’s folder each day. Please initial the chart and return it to school in the daily folder.

Outstanding- This is for extraordinary behavior and will not be given out loosely. I want this to remain special, please do not expect your child to reach this level daily.

Great Job- Students on this level continue to make excellent choices and have outstanding behavior.

Good Day- Students move their clip to this level for making good choices, trying their best, and showing good character. This is a good level to end the day!

Ready to Learn- This is an acceptable level of behavior. If your child ends the day at this level they did not get in trouble, it just means they did not go “above and beyond”.

Think About It- Students move to this level as a reminder that they need to follow the rules.

Teacher’s Choice- Students move to this level if they continue to have a hard time making good choices. I will choose a consequence such as time out, loss of a privilege, phone call home, or whatever is logical for the misbehavior and meaningful for the child.

Parent Contact- Students who reach this level have continued to struggle with their behavior. At this point, I will write the behavior on a Behavior Tracking Form and contact you. The student will also have a consequence.
