In light of the recent tragedy that took place in Winder, Ga., we want to take this time to emphasize our unwavering commitment to school safety.
As a district, we place a high priority on school safety and security, and every effort we make daily is to provide an atmosphere where students feel safe, comfortable and ready to learn.
Our team of professionally certified officers and support staff work tirelessly to maintain a secure learning environment across all our campuses, and their contributions have been invaluable to our efforts.
However, we also rely on your support to help create a safe learning environment. We urge you to discuss the seriousness of threatening violence on campus with your child.
Any threats, regardless of where they are made – whether on school grounds, off campus, or on social media – will be taken very seriously. Each threat will be thoroughly investigated, and if found credible, the person responsible will face the maximum criminal and administrative consequences.
Additionally, please familiarize yourselves with the Student Code of Conduct and support it in your daily interactions with your children and the community.
We all play a crucial role in maintaining safe learning environments, so if you see something, say something. Threats have no place in education and will not be tolerated in Glynn County Schools.
Please reinforce these messages with your child. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
