Glynn County Schools will hold summer school from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 5 to Friday, June 30 for students in grades 3, 5 and 8 who did not pass the reading and/or math portions of the Georgia Milestones. These students will need to attend summer school and/or retest if they are not administratively placed or they will forfeit their right to appeal any retention decisions.
Summer school will be held at Altama, Burroughs-Molette, Glyndale, Golden Isles, Goodyear, Greer, Satilla Marsh, St. Simons, Sterling, Glynn Middle, Jane Macon, Needwood and Risley Middle. (Students at Oglethorpe Point will attend St. Simons).
Both high schools will hold credit recovery classes from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, June 5 through Friday, June 23. This option is for students to recover credit in core academic subjects which they have previously failed or received no credit, or to earn elective credit toward an on-time graduation.
All schools will be closed on Monday, June 19. Grab ‘n go breakfast and lunch bags will be served daily at no cost, and transportation will be provided for students who qualify to receive this service during the school year.
