Congratulations to OPES 5th grade teacher, Mr. Tyler Mimbs, on being named Oglethorpe Point Elementary's 2026-27 Teacher of the Year! 

The Teacher of the Year award is voted on by one’s peers. Mr. Mimbs, in addressing his fellow teachers and staff for bestowing this honor upon him, writes:

“It is absolutely amazing to work with all you, the ultimate team. Our school staff and personnel do the impossible every single day.

It is an incredible honor to be selected, and I am extremely grateful for each and every one of you, even if we never cross paths during the day!

Thank you for the honor. I feel so loved and supported. I hope and pray to continue to grow, on both good and bad days.
