About Mr. Mimbs!

Hello and welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at OPES! I am super excited to once again teach awesome students at an awesome school! My name is Tyler Mimbs and I currently teach 5th grade Math, Science, and Social Studies. I am going into my eighth year at OPES! I previously taught 5th grade at East Laurens Elementary School in Dublin, Georgia, where I am originally from. I graduated from College of Coastal Georgia with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood/ Special Education, and am also gifted certified. As always, I am so thrilled at the opportunity to teach, encourage, and challenge the students from this wonderful community! Outside of school, my hobbies/passions include hunting, fishing, surfing, and playing tennis! I also love college football! Go Dawgs! And yes, my wife teaches second grade at OPE! (We met here!)
